We’re working hard on getting the service back up and running of priority and will post updates here, as we find out more.

Update 11:00am: We’re still working on a fix for the issue resulting from the release last night. We’ll keep this page updated as we have more information to share, and we’re very sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

We will be bringing online a new load balancer and firewall this evening at our Rackspace data centre at 9pm BST. We don’t expect this to result in downtime although you may experience slower page load times for a short period.

Unscheduled Downtime - Update

FreeAgent is now back online after 41 minutes of unscheduled downtime this afternoon. This is the first significant unscheduled outage in our four year history, so of course we’re extremely disappointed and we apologise for any difficulty this interruption caused you today.

The problem occurred at our primary data centre which is hosted by Rackspace UK. We are in the process of bringing online a new firewall and load balancer, both of which are currently being prepped for deployment. Unfortunately, the new load balancer was brought online on our existing network with its backend switch port mistakenly enabled, resulting in an IP conflict meaning incoming traffic couldn’t be routed to our servers. This issue has now been resolved and normal service has been resumed. Rackspace have assured us such a mistake won’t happen again.
